The Cookie Jar Guidelines
This Cookie Jar has been carefully crafted to hold the one Cookie we all adore, David Cook. We are all different sizes, shapes, and flavors of cookies but we all have the love and adoration of David in common. So with that love in mind, we can come together and make this a beautiful place to come and share our pictures, videos, music, thoughts, and ideas. We will have love, laughter and tears of joy and sometimes sadness. But when we cry we will be crying with the best human-kind has to offer. To that end we must have some guidelines to keep our Cookie Jar a place we all want to spend time in.
To begin with the first rule in The Cookie Jar: David's personal life is off limits. He gives a large part of himself through his music, performances and public appearances; he deserves to have his private life to himself.
Think of it like this; if he's not doing a public appearance, it's none of our business and he probably doesn't want to share it with us, or anyone he has not invited. With that being said, there are some things in his private life he does want to share with us, so we have created a forum for News on his personal life. It is a moderated forum and when you post there it will not be visible to anyone until it has been approved by me or another Cookie Wrangler/Moderator. Only news releases given by David or his people, and reported on by reputable sources will be allowed. Absolutely NOTHING from sources like TMZ, Perez Hilton, etc will be approved. NO paparazzi pictures. That includes pictures taken of him when he's doing the normal everyday stuff, airports, shopping on the street, eating dinner out. If a FAN posts a photo that they've gotten permission to take, (either verbal or implied) it will be allowed.
We will at all times be respectful of one another. This respect will include but is not limited to: refraining from bullying, harassing, arguing, name calling, humiliating, or inciting negative feelings in others, for any reason. There will be no excuses for rude or bad behavior. We are all mature adults and should conduct ourselves in a manner befitting such. If you have an issue with someone you cannot resolve in a private manner, bring it to one of the Cookie Wranglers/Moderators or myself, for mediation.
This is an adult forum; you must be over 21 years of age to register. We understand there are some very mature minded people under the age of 21; however, this site is for people who have obtained a certain level of knowledge and experience that can only come from years of life lessons.
We do not discuss politics or religion. That is to say you can speak your beliefs in passing, but you cannot try to change the beliefs of others. Examples would be “I am a Christian” or “I am a democrat”. As long as you do not expound on the theory behind your beliefs to the point of condemning others, or trying to change their thoughts and ideas.
We will not be held responsible for links to any posted materials such as MySpace, iMeem, LiveJournal, or other blogs. Many of these sites contain falsehoods and fabrications of the truth.
We do not allow:
Hot Linking - directly link an image/page from another site, from their web space, stealing their bandwidth.
Advertising - trying to persuade people to buy your own goods
Spam - a post that has no meaning.
Double Posting/Thread Bumping - please make use of the edit function, if you create or reply to a thread and forget to say something. There is a multi-quote function to avoid having to reply multiple times to each quote as well.
Illegal Activity - you are not allowed to break the law using The Cookie Jar
Harassing Cookie Wranglers or Cookie Moderators - if you do not like a decision made by us you can state you reasons in a calm manner and we will take it into consideration.
There will be no excuses for breaking the rules. We have implemented these rules with much thought and discussion and believe they are necessary to keep The Cookie Jar a peaceful and cohesive place to come and share mutual thoughts and ideas. We reserve the right to amend or extend the rules as we feel necessary.
After some discussion, the administrators and moderators of My Daily Cookie Crumbs have decided to make a change/addition to the Forum Rules and User Guidelines. Starting today, we are limiting access to the private sections of the board to members with 15 or more posts. This is to help ensure that the special features of the site, i.e. the mp3 player and the MultiMedia Gallery are enjoyed by our contributing members.
If you break the rules:
First offense will be a warning via private message. We understand that sometimes people are not very clear as to what constitutes the breaking of a rule. So we will send you a private message explaining what the rule is and how it was broken. You will be given a chance to rectify the situation. All threads that you create will be moderated, and won't show up until they're accepted by a staff member.
Second offense you will receive a public warning. Your infraction will be posted in a thread for all to read. You will not be allowed to comment on the post, as will anyone else. That would be unnecessary humiliation. Your threads will still be moderated, and your posts monitored.
Third offense will be a temporary ban for 3 days to 2 weeks depending on the severity of the infraction.
Fourth offense will result in a permanent ban.
These rules are generally known as common courtesy. If you feel you cannot abide by them you are welcome to go elsewhere.
